Our Story

Born from Experience,
Built on Compassion

ORCA was founded not by a corporation, but by a person who has lived the struggle - and found a way through. Since 2009, we have helped hundreds of individuals in Marion County write their own recovery story.

Sally Roumelis-Nichols

ORCA's story began not in a boardroom, but in a moment of personal crisis. After a horse-riding accident left her dependent on opioids, Sally Roumelis-Nichols found herself on a journey she never anticipated - and one that would ultimately define her life's purpose.

Through determination, community, and evidence-based treatment, Sally achieved her own recovery. But rather than returning to her corporate career, she recognized a critical gap: her community lacked affordable, discreet outpatient recovery services that treated people with dignity and respect.

In 2009, she founded ORCA - Outpatient Recovery Center & Associates, Inc. - with a simple but powerful belief: that every person struggling with addiction deserves access to compassionate, effective care, regardless of their background or financial situation.

Today, ORCA stands as a testament to what happens when lived experience meets professional excellence - empowering individuals, families, and the broader Marion County community through lasting recovery.

Our Vision

A Marion County community where recovery is achievable for everyone - where no person faces addiction alone, and where compassionate care is always within reach.
